I grew up in Washington State but have called many places home including Hawaii, Beijing, and Los Angeles. After traveling the world with the Navy, I moved to California to attend UCLA where I took the first step to become a professional photographer and began working as a photo assistant at Smashbox Studios.

My undergraduate Chinese studies led me to leave Los Angeles and explore photography and film in China. In China, I studied at the Hopkins Nanjing Center in Nanjing. In Beijing I had the opportunity to work as a photo producer for Getty Images, translate for the American film The Kiterunner, and act in a CCTV show with Chinese star Zhao BenShan.

The success of my Chinese projects prepared me to return to Los Angeles to work as a photographer for top movie advertising design agencies. During the last several years, I have worked closely with art directors on movie marketing campaigns for major hollywood studios including Warner Bros, Universal Studios and Disney. Outside of the world of entertainment advertising, I enjoy capturing images of Los Angeles jazz musicians and dancers.

我在华盛顿长大，后因机缘在夏威夷、北京和洛杉矶生活。
从美国海军退伍之后，我进入了加州大学洛杉矶分校。正是在那里，我迈出了走向职业摄影师的第一步。
此后不久，我开始在Smashbox美国最大的时尚摄影棚之一担任摄影助理。

本科的中文学习，最终把我带到了中国。离开洛杉矶后，我来到中国进一步研习摄影和电影艺术。
当时，我在霍普京斯南京中美中心学习。那一段经历，至今令人怀念。
毕业之后，我有幸在盖帝图片社担任摄影制作主管。曾经参与翻译美国电影《追风筝的人》，还与赵本山、小沈阳共同客串过一档央视的综义节目。

中国的工作和成功经历，促使我回到洛杉矶为顶尖的电影广告设计工作室当摄影师。在过去的几年里，我和许多美术总监合作完成电影广告项目。许多重量极的好莱坞电影公司，包括华纳兄弟、环球影业、迪斯尼，都是我们的客户。同时，我不曾间断地拍摄一组表现洛杉矶爵士音乐和舞蹈的作品。

在电影广告公司的工作经历和流利的中文水平，让我更加相信自己一个在中国的外国摄影师的独特视角。另外，我已经和北京和上海的专业摄影工作室建立联系。我期待有机会同更多中国的广告公司合作项目。
